Vicky Claborn

About Vicky

Vicky Claborn is an adjunct instructor of organ and piano at Drury University. In addition to her teaching role, she accompanies choirs and students at various universities and within the local community. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy and Piano Performance from the University of Georgia, an MBA from Augusta University, and a Master of Music in Organ Performance from Missouri State University.

Michael Dove

About Michael

Michael Dove is in his 35th year of teaching. For the last 12years he has been teaching 4th, 5th and 6th grade general music in the Marshfield R-1 Schools. Prior to that, he was Director of Bands and Professor of Music Education at Mission University in Springfield. He joined the Evangel University faculty as adjunct professor – applied saxophone in 2021 and the Drury University faculty in the same area in 2022. He is currently serving as the treasurer for Kodaly of the Ozarks, and the secretary for the Missouri Alliance for Arts Education.

Dr. Dove earned a BS ed. at Missouri State University, a M.M.E. at the UMKC–Conservatory of Music, and a Ph.D. at The University of Kansas. He has completed certification in Kodaly Levels 1-3, and in Orff Level 1.

He has been married to his wife Michelle for 33 years. He has two sons: David, who is a professional musician in Nashville; and John, who is a 6th grade science teacher in Springfield.

About Beth

Beth Falukos grew up in Springfield studying piano with Joyce Minasian. Her first experience accompanying was as an eleven year old playing the organ for services in a small Lutheran church. As a teenager she substituted as organist at St. George’s Church in Tunis, Tunisia, where her family lived for three years. Upon returning to the States, she continued developing her skills accompanying theatrical productions, choirs, small instrumental ensembles and soloists. 

Beth completed her nursing degree at St. John’s School of Nursing in 1995. She has been involved with music programs in area churches and schools for the past thirty-five years and has worked as the rehearsal and performance accompanist for the Ozarks Lyric Opera (formerly Springfield Regional Opera), the Boys Choir of Springfield, and contributes to the pit at Springfield Little Theatre.  She teaches piano and accompanies the Drury choirs. Beth worked as music director for ten years both The Broadway Cabaret and Drury’s musical productions.

Denise Fink, BM, MM

About Denise

Denise Fink is the founding member of Harp to Harp (1994-Present) and President of the Harp to Harp Foundation. She is also a Grammy Voting Member of The Recording Academy.
Mrs. Fink currently holds a private studio (in person/online), and the position of Faculty Harp Instructor at Drury University and the College of the Ozarks.

She held the position of principal harpist for The Heartland Opera Co., The Springfield Opera Co. Missouri Philharmonic Orchestra and The Union Avenue Opera of St. Louis

She also held the position as the Founder/Faculty of the Harp Department at the Fine Arts Association in Willoughby, Ohio (1991-2005).

Denise Fink has performed as Principal Harpist under the Batons of Pierre Boulez, Louis Lane, Dr. William Kraft of the Los Angeles Symphony, Stephen Sulich Joseph Guinta, and Evan Wallon, Jeffery Macomber, Christopher Koch and Scott Schoonover. She has also performed for the Cleveland Suburban Symphony, Soloist for the Stars in the Wings (Cleveland Orchestra), The Waterloo/Cedar Falls Symphony and The Ohio Light Opera Co.

Suzanne Harlamert
Cello and Bass

About Suzanne

Suzanne Harlamert attended Southwest Missouri State University (now Missouri State University) from which she graduated with a degree in Cello Performance. She also has degrees in performance from the University of Michigan and the St. Louis Conservatory of Music. Suzanne worked for many years in the St. Louis area as a professional cellist, cello teacher, and public-school teacher of orchestra, 4 ½ years in the St. Louis City Public Schools at Central Visual and Performing Arts High School, and 14 years at McCluer North High School and Cross Keys Middle School in the Ferguson-Florissant School District. She is currently a member of the Springfield Symphony.

Jane Harris

About Jane

Jane Harris came to Drury University in fall of 2016 as adjunct piano teacher. She received a B.A. in Music from Washburn University, studying piano with esteemed professor James Rivers, and a M.M. in Music with a specialization in piano pedagogy from MSU where she studied piano with Drs. David Belcher, Logan Skelton, and Peter Collins.

Harris was Associate Professor of Music at Central Bible College (CBC) full-time for 22 years, and full-time three years at Evangel University (EU) when those two schools and the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary were consolidated. She continues as adjunct professor at EU, teaching Sight Singing and Ear Training III and IV, Class Piano I and II, and applied piano. She serves as accompanist for the University Chorus and for applied voice or instrumental students. At CBC she taught classroom subjects ofMusic Theory I-IV and Class Piano I-IV as well as teaching applied piano and accompanying college choir and applied voice and instrumental students. She is the section leader for the 1st altos in the choir at Central Assembly of God and serves as rehearsal accompanist.

Jane is a member of the Springfield Federated Music Club and enters her elementary through high school piano students in the Missouri Federation of Music annual festival that takes place in Springfield, MO.

Jane’s husband is Jim and they have two adult sons whose families have given them four wonderful grandchildren.

Jason Huneycutt
Voice

About Jason

Jason Huneycutt has over twenty years experience as a choral director and voice and piano instructor. He is excited to teach Applied Voice at Drury. Before his time at Drury, he served as Choral Director for Bolivar and Nixa Public Schools, where his choirs received multiple awards including the Sweepstakes Trophy at the Worlds of Fun Festival of Choirs and three invitational performances at MMEA conferences in 2008, 2010 and 2015. Huneycutt earned a BME in 2002 from Evangel University and a MM in Choral Conducting from Missouri State in 2011. Huneycutt is in demand as a clinician throughout Missouri and the United States. In addition, he maintains a busy private voice and piano studio, Cutt Above Music Studio, in Springfield, Missouri. Most importantly, he is grateful to share his passion for music with young people every day.

Kayla Kernsvaal

About Kayla

Kayla Kernsvaal is a highly regarded vocalist and educator based in Springfield, MO. She earned her M.M. in Vocal Performance from Missouri State University in 2024 and her B.M. in Vocal Performance from Evangel University in 2021, with summa cum laude honors. Her distinguished academic background is complemented by performance accolades, including being a finalist in the Missouri State University Concerto/Aria Competition and securing first place in the Ozark NATS Advanced Classical Treble Voice Division in 2022.
 
Professionally, Kayla provides private vocal instruction in contemporary and classical styles, coaches high school students, and performs as a soloist for concerts, weddings, and church services. She is actively involved with local choral ensembles, including the Springfield Mid-America Singers and Queen City Chorale. In 2023, she toured Canada with the Missouri State Chorale and participated in the recording of an album of the choral music of contemporary composer, John Wykoff. Her international experience expanded with a tour to South Korea in February 2024 with the same ensemble.
 
Her performance experience is further enriched by her time with FIO Italia in Italy, where she dedicated two months to advanced vocal training and language study. There, she took the stage as Sister Constance in Dialogues of the Carmelites. Other notable operatic roles include Rose Maybud in Ruddigore and Dater #63 in Speed Dating Tonight! These experiences have deepened her expertise and versatility as a vocalist, blending rigorous academic training with practical, international performance opportunities.
 
Kayla is passionate about sharing her experiences and knowledge with her students, fostering a love for both the contemporary and classical art forms.

Eunhyang Koh
Piano

About Eunhyang

Eunhyang Koh is an award-winning pianist from South Korea, recognized for her accomplishments in several prestigious international, national, and state competitions, including Missouri Teachers National Association, Memphis International Piano Festival and Competition, Clara Schumann International Competition, VII Future Stars International Piano Competition, The Korea Herald Music Competition, and Eumak-Sekye Piano Competition. In 2018, she triumphed in the Jefferson City Symphony Piano Concerto Competition, performing Schumann’s Piano Concerto in A minor, Op. 54 at Mitchell Auditorium, Lincoln University, Jefferson, MO.

Eunhyang has honed her craft through numerous festivals and masterclasses, including the Texas State International Piano Festival and Vivace International Music Festival, where she studied under the guidance of pianists such as Prof. Julian Martin, Arthur Greene, and Marina Lomazov.

Eunhyang earned both her undergraduate and master’s degrees from Missouri State University in Springfield, where she studied under the mentorship of Dr. Hye-Jung Hong. Before pursuing her studies in the U.S., she built a strong musical foundation at the Seoul Arts Center Academy for Young Musicians and Yewon School in Korea. During her time at MSU, Eunhyang was awarded both teaching and accompanying assistantships, allowing her to teach piano classes, offer private lessons to piano minors, and accompany vocal majors in musical theatre. She also served as vice president of the MTNA Collegiate Chapter, demonstrating her leadership and commitment to the music community.

Eunhyang is currently a per-course faculty member at both Missouri State University and Drury University in Springfield, MO, where she continues to inspire and teach the next generation of musicians.

Sue Reichling
Percussion

About Sue

Sue Reichling moved to Springfield in 2003 after a 15-year career as a full-time freelance musician in Kansas City. She enjoys the varied life of a percussionist, which allows her to perform in jazz, classical, popular, and world music styles…and gives her an excuse to amass a large collection of instruments from around the world. She is principal percussionist/timpanist with the Springfield Symphony Orchestra and Ozarks Lyric Opera, and leads a Mexican marimba trio called Marimba Caliente. She also plays drum set for the jazz group Montage, and has played percussion for national touring Broadway shows as well as regional music theater productions.

Sue is currently researching the music history of Springfield and the surrounding Ozarks region, and is creating a large archive of recorded music documenting that history. The collection reaches back as far as 1926 (The Springfield Boy Scout Band), and also includes many recordings from Drury’s own history. During the day, Sue works with the music and media collections at Meyer Library on the campus of Missouri State University.

Richard Ruhe
French Horn

About Richard

Richard Ruhe is the horn instructor at Drury University and Professor Emeritus at Missouri State University. Formerly an instrumental music teacher at Greenwood Laboratory School, he remains an active performer with the Springfield Symphony, Springfield Little Theatre, and numerous ensembles in the region. Throughout his distinguished career, his students have consistently achieved success at all levels of performance.

Bob Swanson
Trombone, Euphonium, and Tuba

About Bob

Bob Swanson is a graduate of Missouri State University(Bachelor of Music) and the University ofNorth Texas (Master of Music). He is the instructor of trombone, euphonium, and tuba at Drury University, and has taught applied low brass at Southwest Baptist University, as well as privately in Missouri and Texas. He has also taught brass methods classes at both Drury and MSU. Bob is principal trombonist of the Ozarks Lyric Opera Orchestra, and has been principal trombonist and featured soloist of the Missouri Philharmonic Orchestra. He is also a member of the Ozarks Trombone Quartet and is the bass trombonist for the Evangel University Faculty Brass Quintet. A member of the Missouri Jazz Orchestra (MOJO) and the M-Dock Band, he performs regularly with the Springfield Symphony Orchestra, and plays for numerous musicals at Springfield’s own Landers Theatre, MSU, Drury, and other venues. Other groups he has performed with include the Fort Smith Symphony, the Symphony of Northwest Arkansas (SoNA), and the San Angelo Symphony. Bob is also a published arranger for various ensembles. His trombone teachers include Paul Johnston, William Hartman, and Vern Kagarice.
