Drury Jazz Ensembles:

  • Drury Jazz Ensemble is a standard instrumentation big band that performs a wide variety of traditional jazz, Latin American, and funk arrangements and compositions at an advanced level. Audition is necessary for placement.
  • Drury Jazz Combo is a student-led small ensemble. There will be a big focus on improvisation, and students will learn basic arranging skills.

Jazz Ensemble Audition Procedure

Register for an audition time here.

STEP 2

Click here for your audition music.

STEP 3

Prepare and perform the selections for me. You may also improvise in addition to this.

Rhythm section instruments may be asked to “jam” with me on a variety of styles and grooves.

STEP 4

I will email and also post results.
