Human Resources Director
Develops human resource policies and procedures. Directs the day to day operations of the human resources department and all human resource activities, such as nonacademic employment, compensation and benefits, employee relations, and other employee services. Provides professional human resource services and consultation to campus constituencies. Plans and coordinates or delivers staff training and development programs. Provides technical direction, leadership, guidance, and support to staff and student staff engaged in providing a comprehensive range of first-line customer support and administrative services for internal constituencies, job applicants, and visitors.
Develops, implements, manages, and administers employee and fringe benefit plans including health care, retirement, life, disability. Counsels faculty and staff regarding benefit programs, including retirement, insurance programs, death benefits, and worker's compensation. Publicizes benefit programs; conducts benefit orientation sessions and group benefits reviews. Prepares and maintains employee benefit information by collecting, entering, balancing, and maintaining manual and automated records. Coordinates the employee compensation and benefit enrollment, termination, and updating with the payroll/general accountant.
Provides support to the department by coordinating the non-academic employment process, assists in communicating Human Resource hiring policies and procedures to hiring departments; manages and assists with various programming activities offered to staff and faculty; and coordinates HR information technology implementation.
Human Resources Assistant
Coordinates and performs specialized clerical and administrative support for the human resources department in a variety of areas relating to recruiting, employment, training, compensation, and employee benefits. Provides routine assistance and follow-up to departments, employees, students, and the general public in the resolution and/or referral of specific policy- or procedural-related problems and inquiries. Prepares, expedites, and maintains files, records, correspondence, and other documents. Helps maintain the Human Resources web site.
