Samuel Bass, Ph.D.

Visiting Assistant Professor of Accounting

Dr. Samuel Bass joined the Breech faculty in the Fall of 2026 as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Accounting. A native of the Nixa and Springfield area, Sam holds a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and a Master of Accountancy from Missouri State University, as well as a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Oklahoma State University.
 
Immediately after completing his Masters, he worked as an auditor for Ernst & Young – St. Louis. Next, he returned to Nixa where he spent several years running his family’s property management company and also joined the accounting faculty at Missouri State University for 15 years. Immediately prior to joining Drury, he refreshed his industry experience with a couple of years at Sanders, Myers, & Blackwell CPAs, a locally based CPA firm.
 
Dr. Bass primarily teaches Principals, Intermediate, and Advanced Financial Accounting. His research interests focus on small business decision-making and financial literacy.
