Pre-Ministry and Community Engagement Minor

Drury University > History, Philosophy & Religion > Pre-Ministry and Community Engagement Minor

The Pre-Ministry and Community Engagement minor is designed for non-philosophy and religion majors who wish to pursue lay-work within religious and spiritual communities or in social-justice centered non-profit organizations. The program is open to diverse faith, spiritual, and philosophical perspectives. Its goal is to enhance the participant’s capacity to make a contribution of service and/or ministry while that individual has another profession.

The Fusion curriculum encourages Drury students to develop themselves in the areas of “life” and “work.” This minor contributes to the “life” part of the integration and is based on the conviction that all people – regardless of profession – have an opportunity to nurture their religious, spiritual, or philosophical identities while also using their gifts to serve the needs of the wider community.
