SPAN 280: Intermediate International Language Study – Spanish

3 credit hours

Prerequisite:  SPAN 101Intensive study of Spanish at the elementary level, undertaken as part of a Drury-sponsored travel experience in a Spanish-speaking country. Students can fulfill the foreign language requirement by passing SPAN 101 and this course.

SPAN 380: Advanced International Language Study - Spanish

3 credit hours

Prerequisite:  SPAN 101SPAN 102Intensive study of Spanish at the intermediate level or above, undertaken as part of a Drury- sponsored travel experience in a Spanish-speaking country.

SPAN 308: Spain Now: Contemporary Spanish Culture

3 credit hours

Prerequisite:  SPAN 306.  A study of contemporary Spanish culture including such subjects as health care, politics, economics, foreign policy, education and the arts. Particularly recommended for students planning to study in Spain

MGMT 205: Study Abroad

0 credit hours

Study Abroad office must be notified and all policies must be followed including but not limited to insurance requirements. This course meets the Breech study abroad requirement. Study abroad trips that fall in this category will be for a year, semester or stay of at least 21 days. These trips will include formal enrollment in a University (Drury or other) study abroad program in any academic area. 

Dates of Travel: May 17 – June 20, 2022

Program fee: $3,870
Includes University of Valladolid tuition/fees, accommodation with host family, transportation to/from Valladolid, hotel accommodation/ transportation during field trips, in-country airfare, health insurance, administrative fee and faculty expenses 

Estimated Tuition and Fees (3 credit hours): $1,039

Estimated Personal Expenses: $2,630
Roundtrip airfare Springfield – Madrid, transportation to/from Madrid airport, meals outside Valladolid, passport fees, museum entrance and activity fees

Program Fee Payment Deadlines

  • December 3, 2021: a non-refundable/non-transferable deposit of $1,000 must be paid to Drury University by this date.  
  • January 28, 2022: a non-refundable/non-transferable payment of $1,000 is due.
  • February 25, 2022: a non-refundable/non-transferable final program fee payment of $1,870 is due.

Enrollment in the program is limited and is based on good academic standing with the Dean of Students office and payment of deposit. Payments can be made by check, made out to Drury University (please add “Spain 2022/Smith” on memo line) and paid in the Business office in Burnham 100, or on-line through your My Drury account.  Be sure you receive a receipt.
