Meador Scholar Scholarship Application

* = required field

Meador CenterFounded in 2015 by the endowment in honor of Professor L.E. Meador, the Drury University Meador Center for Politics and Citizenship is dedicated to the academic inquiry of politics and citizenship in the modern world.  The work of the Meador Center is to inspire and engage Drury University students and faculty to work toward that “more democratic and more hopeful world” of which Professor Meador spoke.

The L.E. Meador Center for Politics and Citizenship also seeks to connect the community of scholars at Drury University with the city, state, national, and global communities which Drury and its scholars inhabit.

The Meador Center Scholars application is designed to support the research process for students of ANY major.  Awards range from $100 to $500.  Funds can be used to purchase software, data sets, access to consortia, support travel to a conference, and the like.  As noted, students of any major are eligible for this scholarship but the research topic should be linked to politics or public policy

Scholarship monies are not available for routine college expenses, such as buying books or tuition, but rather should be targeted toward a specific, well-defined project (e.g. data sets, conference travel, and the like).

To be considered for the Meador Scholar’s Scholarship, applicants should provide the information below and submit this form on-line.  There is no formal deadline for applying for a Meador Scholars award.

The board will evaluate applications on a combination of the following: quality of the application, how well the proposed research topic fits with Professor Meador’s vision, academic merit, and financial need.
