Develops human resource policies and procedures. Directs the day to day operations of the human resources department and all human resource activities, such as nonacademic employment, compensation and benefits, employee relations, and other employee services. Provides professional human resource services and consultation to campus constituencies. Plans and coordinates or delivers staff training and development programs. Provides technical direction, leadership, guidance, and support to staff and student staff engaged in providing a comprehensive range of first-line customer support and administrative services for internal constituencies, job applicants, and visitors.

Supports the department by providing assistance to faculty, staff, and students. Distributes information such as paychecks, tax withholding forms, and so forth.  Collects, enters, and maintains employee manual and computerized files and processes payrolls, paychecks, reports, and fringe benefits.  Coordinates and processes Federal, Social Security, and State tax payment and reporting.  Maintains schedules and reports related to general ledger.  Posts transactions to general ledger. Manage employees’ timesheets and time and attendance.

Coordinates and performs specialized clerical and administrative support for the human resources department in a variety of areas relating to recruiting, employment, training, compensation, and employee benefits. Provides routine assistance and follow-up to departments, employees, students, and the general public in the resolution and/or referral of specific policy- or procedural-related problems and inquiries. Prepares, expedites, and maintains files, records, correspondence, and other documents. Helps maintain the Human Resources website.
