Prerequisite: CHEM 412 or CHEM 415
A third semester organic course with emphasis on retrosynthetic approach and the understanding of reaction mechanisms and functional group transformations. Transition state models to understand the stereochemical outcomes of various reactions will be studied. Journal articles from recent literature will be utilized to study the total synthesis of complex organic molecules.
