During an approved Study Abroad experience, students will use foreign language as a tool to research and address problems in a cultural context or contexts. This study abroad experience must be completed in a country other than the United States or the student’s home country (if not the U.S.). Students will complete a hands-on project that is co-supervised by a foreign language professor and a faculty member from the professional department. This project will deepen the student’s learning about the intersection of language and culture, preparing them for leadership in multicultural organizations and societies. In addition, students must demonstrate foreign language ability at the ACTFL Intermediate-Mid level.
