MGMT 374: Employment Laws and Regulations


3 credit hours

Prerequisite: MGMT 301 and admission to the Breech School of Business or, declared Organizational Leadership Studies major
This course should give students the opportunity to learn legislation and common law that applies to employers and employees. The course will examine all existing federal employment laws including but not limited to the Family and Medical Leave Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disability Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and the Fair Labor Standard Act as well as some state laws such as state worker’s compensation laws and some state discrimination regulation. The course will include learning the applicable regulations for enforcement of such laws.
