PAS 652: Biostatistics and Epidemiology


1 credit hour

The Biostatistics and Epidemiology explores the fundamental concepts of biostatistics and epidemiology necessary to interpret clinical research articles commonly encountered within health research. Students will review the design of clinical studies and the use of statistical methods to assess the evidence of the study presented. Students will learn to utilize medical research literature to form patient-centered evidence-based clinical and shared decision-making with their patients that is based on the patient’s values. Students will be introduced to and learn to use common databases to access evidence based medical literature.
