Welcome to Drury University

Dr. J. Timothy Cloyd: 18th President of Drury University

The Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that Dr. James Timothy Cloyd has been elected as Drury's 18th president. Cloyd previously served as president of Hendrix College, in Conway, Arkansas – a liberal arts school that has been nationally recognized for a strong commitment to teaching excellence and financial soundness.

Cloyd, 54, and his wife, Wendy, will begin serving Drury on July 1, 2016. The 11-member presidential search committee unanimously recommended Cloyd after an extensive national search that included nearly 200 nominations and applicants, more than 30 present and former college presidents, and several qualified candidates from the Springfield region. Cloyd’s strategic vision and leadership, presidential experience and accomplishments, and proven fundraising prowess made him the clear choice to become Drury’s next leader.
