Born and raised in Hertfordshire, England, Asikaa Cosgrove graduated with distinction from one of London's premier engineering and technology research institutions after studying electronic engineering and computer information systems. He worked for British Telecommunications as a systems designer, where he was assigned to various large-scale commercial, government and military contracts. After immigrating to the United States, Cosgrove worked as Director of Web Communications and Adjunct Instructor of Education for Drury University. Having been involved with Internet and educational technologies for over 14 years, he has designed and developed numerous websites and online systems using a variety of platforms. He has extensively studied and taught the principles of effective human-computer interface design, the ethics of online interaction, and the management of technology provision in large organizations. Cosgrove enjoys teaching grades 6-8 in Drury's Summerscape camp, a pre-college summer program for gifted students. He is currently a doctoral candidate at University of Missouri-Columbia, working toward a Ph.D. in Information Science and Learning Technology and minoring in educational psychology. His research interests include human learning through the use of game-based virtual environments and the role of flow theory in motivation and persistence.
For relaxation, Cosgrove enjoys fitness training, mountain biking, metal detecting, the shooting sports and riding his Missouri foxtrotting horse, Billy.
