Dr. Waters, a member of the Department of Communication since 1993, teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in public relations and integrated marketing communications. In 2017-18, Dr. Waters mentored a student team in the development of the Bucket List + 1 campaign, a social marketing initiative to motivate young adults to learn about advance healthcare planning.

In addition to her faculty role, Dr. Waters serves as the Dean of Drury's College of Graduate Studies (since 2015). 

Her research interests include organizational socialization processes, performance evaluations, professional mentorship and academic advising issues. Her work appears in the Journal of Cooperative Education and Internships, NACE Journal and the NACADA Journal. 

She is a member of the Public Relations Society of America and the Southwest Missouri Chapter of PRSA. Dr. Waters is on the board of directors for the Hospice Foundation of the Ozarks, where she serves as marketing chair.
