
SPRINGFIELD, Mo., June 18, 2026 – John Myers, president of Mercy Springfield Communities, has been named to the Drury University Board of Trustees. Myers officially began his four-year term on June 1.
“John is a seasoned, thoughtful and innovative leader whose perspective will add immeasurably to the Drury Board,” Drury University President Dr. Jeff Frederick said. “I’m thrilled that he is joining our Board of Trustees and know that he will offer wise counsel to Drury.”

Myers has been with Mercy since 2022 and has served as president since 2024. A veteran of more than 25 years in the healthcare industry, Myers has previously served as chief operating officer at Research Medical Center in Kansas City.

Myers is a 2004 graduate of Ottawa University and earned an MBA from Regis University in 2009. In addition to a seat on Drury’s Board of Trustees, Myers is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and serves on several community boards, including Springfield Chamber of Commerce, Boys and Girls Club of Springfield, Ozarks Technical Community College Foundation, Missouri Sports Hall of Fame and Leaders for Ozarks Region Involvement.
Myers is the first appointee to the Board since 2024 when 11 trustees were named. Those trustees were: David Argueta, Phil Caster ’89, John Cooper, Derek Cozzens ’93, Thomas Cray ’77, Louis Griesemer, Rick Jones, Christopher Ragain ’01, Stephanie Red ’03, Christopher Sechler ’95 and Trent Webb ’89.
