SPRINGFIELD, Mo., March 30, 2023 As a special thank you, the Drury University baseball team will offer free admission to current and retired law enforcement officers at their game on Tuesday, April 4th. The game will take place at 5 p.m. at U.S. Ballpark (4400 N. 19th St., Ozark, MO).

“It’s important to make sure that the guys in our program understand that there is meaning beyond the game,” said Head Baseball Coach, Scott Nasby. “There are people who lay their lives on the line for us and the community to be safe, and we want to make sure they know they’re supported in our program.”

To gain free admission, law enforcement members must show their credentials at the front entry. Prizes and giveaways will also be offered to those in attendance.

Drury has a long-standing relationship with members of law enforcement. In 2021 the Badge to Bachelor’s scholarship program was launched to help support law enforcement officers and their families.

“This game will be the perfect opportunity to meet officers who want to advance their careers and talk about how Drury can help them on that path,” said Interim Executive Vice President of Drury GO, Aaron Jones.

Badge to Bachelor’s is a degree completion program designed to give law enforcement officers pathways and resources to continue their college education through Drury GO.

“Not only do we offer the Badge to Bachelor’s scholarship, but Drury is also home to the Drury University Law Enforcement Academy,” Jones added. “Right here on campus, we provide professional training for those interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement.”

Applications are now open for the Drury University Law Enforcement Academy. More information about the academy and the Badge to Bachelor’s program will be available at the upcoming baseball game.

A member of local law enforcement will throw the first pitch to open Tuesday’s game. The ballpark also offers a full concession stand and abundant parking.
