Springfield, Mo., February 22, 2024 – Five Drury students have been recommended by the National Screening Committee to become Fulbright Semi-Finalists.

The Fulbright Program is the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government designed to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries. Recipients of Fulbright grants are selected based on academic and professional achievement, as well as demonstrated leadership potential in their fields.

“Two Drury students, Jack Corp and Destany L’Heureux, are currently in Taiwan and Ferrol, Spain, respectively as Fulbright finalists,” says Dr. Shelley Wolbrink, Professor of History. “Of course, the high number of Semi-Finalists is also a product of our community that does so much to produce these unique individuals ready to become citizen-diplomats.”

The five students are Griffin Hirst, Jeremiah Jones, Megan Parsley, Abby Robertson, and Olivia Scheberle.

Each student’s essay and multi-page application will be sent on to their host country for final review and selection in April.
