New for 2021 – Summit Park Themed Living Communities

Summit Park Themed Living Communities offer upperclassmen the chance to live with other students who share a common goal or interest. This is a great way for students to build community and share in a common purpose. Staff/faculty advisors with work with each themed community to offer up programming opportunities throughout the school year. These are interest-based groups and are not connected to an academic class.

Application Process

Selection for Summit Park Themed Living Communities will be by a separate application. Each theme will house two units of 4. Groups of four will take preference, but individuals may apply. Applications and housing contracts are due by February 19, 2021. Selections for Summit Park will be announced Friday, February 26, 2021.

Housing

Students reside in apartment buildings located at the corner of N. Summit Ave. and E. Calhoun St. Dedicated parking for these units is located directly behind the complex. The units include all major appliances including refrigerator, stove/oven, dishwasher, and free in-unit washer and dryer.

Pricing for Summit Park for 2020-21 academic year was $3,854 with a 45 block meal plan per semester. Pricing may increase for 2021-2022. This is the lowest priced apartment option. Learn more about the amenities and pricing on the Housing website.

Eligibility

Students must be a full-time student, and in good academic/conduct standing with the University. Applicants must have graduated from high school in August 2020 or earlier to live in Summit Park.

2021 Summit Park Themes

  • Panhellenic
    • Calling all Greek women! The Panhellenic unit promotes sisterhood and offers a place for Greek women to live together and focus on the promotion of Greek Life on Drury’s campus. You will work with the Coordinator of Greek Life and other professionals who will assist in furthering the mission of a positive Greek experience for all.
  • Pre-Health
    • Are you interested in pursuing a career in health care? In the Pre-Health unit, you will have the opportunity to live with others who share the same passion. You will be surrounded by study partners and those who understand the academic demands of this field.
  • Home at Last / New Transfer Students
    • The Home at Last themed community is for transfer students. If you transferred in and would like to be a mentor for new incoming transfer students then this community is for you. This community will have new and current transfer students and professional staff will offer programming to help navigate your success at Drury.
  • Social Justice
    • The Social Justice themed living community aims to gather students who desire to grow upon their strengths and awareness as agents of social change. Fostering strong ties, educating ourselves about current events, and advocating for ways to better the communities we are members of. This group will be encouraged to engage with the larger Drury community, as well as the Springfield community, to advocate for positive change and collective action.
  • Global Perspectives
    • The Global Perspectives Themed Community partners with International Support Services and the International Student Association to offer opportunities for international and domestic residents to engage in cross-cultural experiences, learn from each other, and expand their understanding of differing worldviews.  This themed community is open to residents interested in exploring global citizenship, expanding their awareness, and developing interpersonal and intercultural competencies.
