Prerequisite: Completion of the didactic year of the Drury University Physician Assistant Program.
The five-week internal medicine supervised clinical practice experience is designed to give students the opportunity to evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients across the lifespan in an inpatient clinical setting. Students will have the opportunity to perform complete and problem-focused medical histories, perform complete and problem-focused physical examinations, and develop and implement care management plans for common medical and behavioral health conditions seen in an internal medicine setting. Students are expected to spend a minimum of 36-hours per week providing patient care at the clinical rotation site. Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory grading.
