Prerequisite: EGRM 230, MATH 233, MATH 235, MATH 366.
An introduction to the fundamental concepts and methods of fluid mechanics. Topics covered in the course include pressure, hydrostatics, and buoyancy; open systems and control volume analysis; mass conservation and momentum conservation for moving fluids; dimensional analysis; viscous fluid flows; flow through pipes; boundary layers, and lift and drag on objects; and compressible flows.
