PAS 650: Clinical Medicine I

Clinical Medicine I is the first in a series of four Clinical Medicine courses integrating the epidemiology, risk factors (including genetics, as applicable), pathophysiology, signs and symptoms, history and physical findings, laboratory and diagnostic tests, differential diagnosis, therapeutic management, complications, preventative measures, prognosis, patient centered education, and follow-up of emergent and non-emergent disorders encountered in primary care for the pediatric, adult, and geriatric patient. The course utilizes a systems approach and is delivered through a combination of traditional lectures and problem-based learning (PBL) sessions. The topics are synchronized with and correlative to topics in Gross Anatomy, Pathophysiology I, Pharmacology I, and Physical Diagnosis and Provider Communication I. Organ systems covered in Clinical Medicine I include dermatology, musculoskeletal, autoimmune disease, neurology, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, and infectious disease.
