Intramurals

Drury University Intramurals exist to provide students with a fun, safe and competitive sporting environment. Outdoor intramural competition takes place on either Harrison or Sunderland Fields while indoor competition occurs primarily in Weiser Gymnasium. The type of team and individual sports that will be available varies based on semester and student interest.

The usual sports are:

  • soccer
  • flag-football
  • volleyball
  • ping-pong
  • basketball
  • E-games
  • softball
  • kickball

It costs $30 for a team to sign up for the entire year in the fall or $25 to sign up a team in the spring. This fee averages about $3 dollars a person due to the fact there are roughly ten people per team.

Drury intramural basketball offers a fun and competitive environment for all skill levels. Games consist of two (2) 20-minute halves. Teams must have at least 4 players to start a game. Teams must provide their own ball. Winning teams will advance through playoff games with one team winning the championship title.

What to Wear

Shirts and shoes must be worn at all times during the event. Opposing teams must be in opposite colors (light vs. dark) so to not create confusion for the participants or the referees. Pennies will be provided by the intramural department or teams can choose to wear their own jerseys but they all must match to the referee’s discretion. The referee or supervisor has the authority to disallow any footwear that they deem dangerous.

All necklaces, rings, watches, and other jewelry must be removed during an event.

Intramural Facilities

Harrison Stadium
Most intramural competitions will be held on Harrison Stadium on the campus of Drury University. This turf facility allows for multiple sports to be played year round. The field is lit so competitions can run past dark. In most cases multiple games will be held at one time because of the size of this complex.

Sunderland Field
Sunderland is a grass field that is located on campus as well. It will be used on rare occasions when Harrison is unavailable. Some extra events may take place off campus if the event deems necessary.
