Study Abroad

Drury University > Study Abroad

Study abroad is one of the most exciting opportunities available to Drury students and is described by many as the experience of a lifetime.

All Drury students have the option to study abroad. The experience is a degree requirement for Breech School of Business and Hammons School of Architecture students. Most students that participate in our semester-long or short-term (winter or summer) programs do so during their junior year, though it is possible to participate during the sophomore year as well.

Your financial aid and scholarships can apply toward certain semester study abroad programs. The Office for International Programs also awards additional study abroad scholarships for semester and short-term programs. These scholarships are limited, so we suggest applying as soon as possible.

NOTE: STUDY ABROAD VACCINATION POLICY

Because safety is our number one priority, Drury University strongly recommends that all study abroad participants be fully up-to-date with their routine vaccinations as defined by the Center for Disease Control (CDC); this definition changes from time to time, so please visit here and here for the most updated CDC recommendations.

We strongly recommend being up-to-date with your COVID-19 vaccination as it reduces the risk of contracting COVID and of becoming seriously ill from it; it also increases health protection for all participants and our global neighbors from the spread of the disease.  An individual testing positive for COVID while abroad could have additional financial responsibilities – these include, but are not limited to, lodging, meals, and delays in the ability to travel due to quarantine.  Additionally, a student who is unvaccinated or not up-to-date with their COVID-19 vaccination could be excluded from a program at the last minute if the international destination should reinstate COVID travel restrictions; this would lead to a loss of the deposit paid and unrecoverable program fees.
