Crista Hogan, J.D.

Executive-in Residence in the Department of Political Science and International Affairs

Crista Hogan has served as executive director of the 1,000-member Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association since October, 2001, after practicing law for a decade.  She is also the executive director of the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Foundation. During her tenure the Springfield Bar has been recognized locally, statewide and nationally for innovative programs which promote the legal profession and advance justice.

Hogan received her BBA in Business Economics and Public Policy from George Washington University in 1985 and her J.D. from The University of Tulsa School of Law in 1988.  She returned to university life in 2022, this time as an instructor in the Political Science Department at Drury University.  She teaches Women and Politics and Law and Society with the transparent agenda of supporting the next generation of leaders and encouraging aspiring lawyers.

Public service is a family affair – Hogan is married to Springfield City Councilman Abe McGull.  When not volunteering, working or working out, they enjoy a bunch of children and grandchildren and their home, garden and neighbors in Rountree.
