SPAN 309: Spanish America Now; Contemporary Spanish America Culture

3 credit hours

Prerequisite: SPAN 306. A study of contemporary Latin American culture including such subjects as health care, politics, economics, foreign policy, education, and the arts. Particularly recommended for students planning to study in Latin America.

SPAN 380: Advanced International Language Study - Spanish

3 credit hours

Prerequisite:  SPAN 101SPAN 102Intensive study of Spanish at the intermediate level or above, undertaken as part of a Drury- sponsored travel experience in a Spanish-speaking country.

Dates of Travel: December 27, 2021 – January 15, 2022

Program fee: $3,134
Includes lodging (double-room) with breakfast and supper provided, cultural excursions, airport transfers, museum entrance fees, guided tours, 3 credit hours of intensive language instruction (Academia Buenos Aires), health insurance, administrative fee and faculty expenses.

Estimated Tuition and Fees (3 credit hours): $1,039

Estimated Personal Expenses: $2,500
Roundtrip airfare, non-program meals, additional transportation, souvenirs, gifts, entertainment, passport fees, etc.

Program Fee Payment Deadlines

  • September 1, 2021: a non-refundable/non-transferable deposit of $900 must be paid to Drury University by this date.  The first 10 students with a paid deposit will be offered a position in the program. The program will cap at 15 students.
  • October 22, 2021: a non-refundable/non-transferable payment of $1,120 is due.
  • November 22, 2021: a non-refundable/non-transferable final program fee payment of $1,114 is due.

Enrollment in the program is limited and is based on good academic standing with the Dean of Students office and payment of deposit. Payments can be made by check, made out to Drury University (please add “Argentina 2021/Nichols” on memo line) and paid in the Business office in Burnham 100, or on-line through your My Drury account.  Be sure you receive a receipt.
