SPRINGFIELD, Mo., December 22, 2025 – Drury University has been awarded a $30,000 grant from the Jeannette L. Musgrave Foundation, administered through the Community Foundation of the Ozarks (CFO), to support nursing scholarships and advance healthcare education. The announcement was part of a number of grants made during a celebration held at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield’s new Risdal Family Teen Center on December 11, 2025.

“This grant will help fund scholarships for students pursuing careers in nursing, addressing a critical need for skilled healthcare professionals, not just in Springfield but in southwest Missouri,” said Dr. Beth Harville, Drury University’s provost. “The Musgrave Foundation and CFO’s support is instrumental in expanding educational access and preparing our students to make a meaningful impact in our community’s healthcare system.”

Drury University has expanded its health sciences offerings in recent years. The Physician Assistant program graduated its first class in November, and Drury welcomed its first cohort in the Master of Health Administration (MHA) degree program earlier this fall. These initiatives reflect Drury’s commitment to growing its healthcare education programs, building community partnerships and preparing students for successful careers in healthcare fields.

“This funding not only supports nursing education but also reinforces Drury’s broader efforts to address healthcare workforce shortages in our region,” Dr. Harville added. “We are grateful to the Musgrave Foundation for investing in the future of healthcare and for supporting students who will go on to serve and improve wellness in our community.”
