SPRINGFIELD, Mo., August 14, 2025 – Drury University has been awarded a $2,000 grant from the Greene County Medical Society Foundation to help assist students pursuing medical careers with an emphasis on assisting arthritic patients. The grant is being made possible by the Paul Carrick Trust.
“The Greene County Medical Society Foundation is proud to announce the awarding of funds from the Paul Carrick Trust to two outstanding students from Drury University,” Greene County Medical Society board member and Drury alum Dr. Jacob K. Thomas ‘03 said. “These future healthcare professionals have demonstrated a commitment to providing compassionate medical care for individuals living with arthritis and related conditions.
“The Paul Carrick Trust was established to promote awareness and improve the lives of those affected by arthritic diseases. Through these scholarships, the Trust continues its mission by supporting the next generation of caregivers and advocates.”
Over the last several years, Drury has made strides in its commitment to community health by educating future generations of physicians. Drury has expanded its offerings in the healthcare field in recent years by adding the physician’s assistant program in 2023, and this fall, Drury will debut its Master’s Program in Healthcare Administration, a cooperative effort between Mercy Hospital Springfield Communities and CoxHealth.
