Drury students and alumni are making their mark around the world —shaping young minds in the classroom, performing cutting-edge research in laboratories and working to address some of the world’s most pressing issues in areas of high need.
Your gift to Drury is an investment that enables students to discover their passions as they work closely with faculty and mentors in a purposeful learning environment. These experiences prepare students to lead lives of passion and purpose, and every Drury donor shares in their success.
Over 50 years ago, Mac and Jane (Hughes) Bonebrake, ’43/’43 followed the example set by her parents and began giving to Drury University.
“It was very simple,” Mac says, “Drury played a big part in our education. We felt we owed Drury a lot.”
While an undergraduate, Mac played basketball and studied pre-med, but it was another Drury alumnus who convinced him to stay in Springfield. John Ferguson ’36, urged Mac to practice in the Queen City after med school. As a result of living in Springfield, Mac stayed very close to Drury basketball and at age 97, he still attends most home games.
