Prerequisite: Satisfactory completion of the didactic phase of the PA program.
This course is designed to prepare students for their supervised clinical practice experiences (SCPE). Time will be spent developing and gathering the required information and documentation necessary for participation in SCPEs, as well as providing students with training in HIPAA, OSHA, use of electronic medical records, and use of the PA program’s case logging software. Other discussion topics covered in this course include program requirements for SCPEs, professionalism expectations, patient safety, prevention of medical errors, patient counseling/education, billing/coding, and professional portfolio development.
