PAS 628: Physical Diagnosis and Provider Communication I

3 credit hours

Physical Diagnosis and Provider Communication I is the first of a 2-semester course sequence providing instruction in the art and technique of patient interviewing, relationship building, and physical diagnosis skills. The course content is synchronized and integrated to correlate with Clinical Medicine I to maximize student learning. Throughout the course, students develop a systems-based approach to performing a full physical examination.

This course also introduces students to the art of oral and written medical communication which encompasses medical interviewing and medical documentation techniques. Students will apply these newly learned skills in problem-based learning (PBL) labs in Clinical Medicine I, bringing all aspects of medical practice together.
