Kris Inman has been named as Program Coordinator for the Public Safety Leadership Programs at Drury.

Inman has more than 30 years of experience in 911 public safety, spanning every level from call taker to agency director. A nationally recognized speaker, instructor, and consultant, he is known for blending practical insight, humor, and heartfelt honesty in ways that inspire positive change in individuals and organizations.
“I’m honored to serve as coordinator of the Public Safety Leadership Programs at Drury University,” Inman said. “This is an incredible opportunity to help grow the next generation of leaders in public safety—leaders who can blend skill, compassion, and resilience in a field that demands all three. I’m excited to build on Drury’s strong tradition of leadership education and to give back to the profession that has shaped my career and my life.”
Inman also currently serves as Director of Program Development for The Healthy Dispatcher, where he designs and delivers training programs nationwide focused on leadership development, employee engagement, and workplace culture. In higher education, he has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in communication, public safety leadership, professional development, and first-year foundations at both Missouri State University and Drury University.
He retired from the City of Springfield in 2023 following a 28-year career at Springfield-Greene County 911, where he was the agency’s first internally promoted director and longtime Training & Education Manager.
Inman holds a Master of Arts in Communication and a Bachelor of Science in Electronic Media from Missouri State University. He also serves as an ambassador for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
