‘They Won't Pay? We Won't Pay!’ is about the working-class overwhelmed by 1970s inflation, where housewives riot, steal food from supermarkets, and then try to hide the loot from their bewildered husbands, leading to chaotic situations involving fake pregnancies, mistaken identities, and a buffoonish police detective, all satirizing economic hardship, consumerism, and state control.
