Drury partners with our alumni volunteers to help support our present and shape our future. Alumni volunteers play an invaluable role in everything from recruiting new students to planning alumni events around the world. Whether your interests lean toward mentoring students, admissions and recruitment, assisting with regional programs, or helping the community, there are many opportunities for you to get involved.
Alumni Council members serve as important representatives of Drury in their communities, assist university staff in coordinating alumni communication efforts, are involved in planning alumni activities, and facilitate alumni engagement.
Term: 3 years, with 6 general meetings/conference calls and 6+ committee meetings/conference calls per year
Location: Anywhere, but willing to travel to Springfield, Mo for first meeting each year
Alumni Council serves as the voice and the governing body of the Alumni Association, consisting of alumni leaders from a wealth of class years, degrees and walks of life. Council members are committed to regularly communicating with their classmates and network about Drury. Council members serve as important representatives of Drury in their communities, assist university staff in coordinating alumni communication efforts, are involved in planning alumni activities, and facilitate alumni engagement.
Meetings & Involvement Level: This opportunity is a high level of volunteer involvement. Drury Alumni Council meets collectively six times per year for general meetings. Council committees meet separately four to six times per year.
Responsibilities of Membership:
Financial Commitment: Expected to be annual donors to the Annual Drury Experience Fund.
Location: Willing to travel to the Springfield-Metro area for one meeting per year. Physical attendance is desirable at all meetings, but not mandatory for remaining meetings.
Application Timeline: Complete online application during application timeline, annually in spring. Alumni Council reviews applications and selects members from the applicant pool. New members are notified in May each year. The new term begins in June.

Drury’s Student-Alumni connections program brings together students and alumni in purposeful, mutually rewarding relationships, introducing students to alumni from different backgrounds, class years, programs, and industries. As an alumni connection, you will guide your student in career, life and general support (as requested by the student).
Location: Anywhere, we encourage virtual connection in this current time period.
Meetings/Involvement level: This is a moderate level of involvement opportunity. Members meet in-person on Drury’s campus a couple of times per year, if possible and mostly virtually. Alumni mentors and students are encouraged to connect monthly for a couple of hours. It could be remotely through email, phone, FaceTime or Social Media or it could be a face-to-face meeting in a public place, like a coffee shop or a professional business.
Financial Commitment: Drury Alumni Mentors often buy lunch or coffee for their student mentee as meetings arise. Encouraged to donate annually to the Annual Drury Experience Fund.
Location: Springfield preferred; where you live also works!
How to join & Application Timeline: Complete online application to be considered for a role as an alumni connection. This is a rolling application. Alumni Office and Career Planning & Development Office review all applications throughout the year and match alumni mentors with students based on the major, career field or interests of the students. Once matched, you will be contacted with more information and added to the Alumni Connections Program.
