Drury University is located on a 90-acre residential campus in the historic midtown district of Springfield, Missouri, and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association. Drury offers more than 70 majors and programs, 46 minors, 20 certificates, and 9 graduate programs to its 2,333 students with a 12:1 student to faculty ratio.

The search for Drury University’s next President calls for a dynamic and visionary leader who will be entrusted with the role of chief executive officer, reporting to the Board of Trustees. The President is not only the spokesperson for the University but also a representation of its values, priorities, and mission of student success. In this pivotal position, the President must possess a deep understanding of the intricate landscape of higher education and chart a clear path for Drury’s continued regional and national prominence.

The President is the primary adviser and the executive agent of the Board of Trustees. This authority, which is derived from the Board of Trustees, encompasses all aspects of educational and managerial affairs. The President is tasked with leading the University, implementing Board policies, and ensuring that the Board is well-informed on matters of significance. Additionally, the President will serve as the University’s key spokesperson, representing Drury in all official capacities.

The President will execute documents on behalf of the University and the Board of Trustees, always aligned with Board policies and the University’s best interests. The President will also hold an ex-officio position on all Board committees, further contributing to the institution’s governance and leadership structure.

While academic credentials are valued and a terminal degree expected, it is imperative that the President comprehends the multifaceted nature of university operations, both from academic and business perspectives. Furthermore, the ability to foster a shared vision among all members and stakeholders of the Drury community is paramount, with an unwavering commitment to nurturing a learning-centered environment that seamlessly integrates liberal arts and professional learning experiences.
