Who are we?

We are ¡Viva the Vote!: a group of students that offer accessible information about voting. We do not support any candidate nor any position. The process of voting can be confusing. We believe in helping people to learn why it’s important to vote and where they can register to vote. We also offer a detailed explanation of the policies and the candidates to be voted on. We are striving to get more people to vote and we would love to see you at the polls.

Why vote?

  1. For your family
    The problems in your region can affect the education, income, and security of your family. You can vote for the solutions. Be the solution.
  2. For your community
    The Hispanic community represents a large group in southwest Missouri. If the Hispanic community votes, it would have a grand impact. Your leaders need to hear your voice.
  3. For the future
    The future of your children and grandchildren is decided in the elections. You can change the future to be what you want.
  4. For your beliefs
    You can vote for a politician that shares the same beliefs as you. Through this, your beliefs can guide the community.

Don’t allow other people to decide your future and your life. Decide for yourself! For your family, your future, and your community!

How to Register

Who can register?

You must be 17 and a half years old to register and 18 years old to vote

You must be a resident or claim residence in Missouri to vote in Missouri

How to register to vote:

There are many ways to register to vote. Select one of these four options that appear on the Missouri Secretary of State’s website.

  1. In person:
    Go to the county clerk’s office in your county or see a certified registrar (like some members of the League of Women Voters).
  2. Print and send your application:
    Select your county on the website. Print and complete your application. Follow the application’s instructions in order to send it to your county clerk.
  3. Send on the website:
    Complete your application on the site and submit it there. You will receive verification of your registration within seven days. If you don’t receive verification, you should contact your county clerk.
  4. Request an application to be sent to you:
    Complete your information on this page and you will be sent an application in three to five business days. After you receive the application, complete it and either mail it or bring it to your county clerk’s office.

      1. Amendment #1: Authorizes the state treasurer to invest in highly rated municipal securities.
      2. Amendment #3: Legalizes the purchase, possession, consumption, use, delivery, manufacturing, and sale of marijuana for personal use for adults over the age of twenty-one; allows individuals convicted of non-violent marijuana-related offenses to petition to be released from incarceration and/or have their records expunged; and imposes a 6% tax on the sale of marijuana.
      3. Amendment #4: Allows the legislature to pass a law until December 31, 2026, that requires a city to increase funding without reimbursement from the state to a police force that was established by a state board of police commissioners.
      4. Amendment #5: Gives the Missouri National Guard its own department in the state government
      5. Constitutional Convention: Asks voters whether to hold a state constitutional convention
