BUIC is hosting Cafe Soul, where jazz meets coffee, to connect Drury students with African American culture through culture-forward pastries, an educational experience on the origin of Jazz, and a poetry-read from African American poet and Drury Alumnus Dre Hill. Alongside this experience will be the opportunity for Drury students to showcase their talents and crafts through music and poetry. The Drury Jazz Band will be performing pieces by African American Jazz artists for a portion and Alumni and students alike will be able to perform their pieces and poems during the open-mic portion of the event.
