PSYC 372: Holistic Health Practices


3 credit hours

This participation-focused course introduces students to the history and practice of complementary healing therapies. Presentations and demonstrations by practitioners in such areas as herbal medicine, acupuncture, mediation, massage therapy, aromatherapy, animal-assisted therapy, music therapy, and yoga are an integral part of the course. The relationship of holistic health practices to both mainstream Western medicine and the emerging field of positive psychology are also explored.
