GSTU 207: Introduction to International Diversity and Culture


3 credit hours

This course will prepare students to interact with diverse cultures by introducing them to an interdisciplinary set of ideas and theories regarding national and international cultures. In this course students will analyze complex issues of diversity from the perspective of various professional fields. Covering such topics as gender, sexuality, ability, ethnicity, socioeconomic status and religion, students will be introduced to a wide range of viewpoints from legal, business, ethical, political and educational disciplines to explore contemporary questions and develop valuable competencies. GSTU 207 prepares students to engage in the disciplinary perspectives developed in the other courses in the minor.
