Faculty Development Plan

*A unanimous positive third-year review includes the Department Chair, Promotion and Tenure Committee, and the Provost/Dean each determining that the candidate demonstrates “satisfactory progress toward tenure”.

The professional growth of faculty in the areas of teaching, scholarship, and service is vital to our students’ success and the success of Drury University. Please use the following space to state at least three (3) goals you have for the coming evaluation period (one year for faculty without a unanimous positive third year review* and three years for faculty with a unanimous positive third year review or tenure). Individual goals may include more than one of the three primary areas of evaluation (teaching, scholarship, and service), but at least one goal is required for each of the areas. A description of your activities relative to these goals will be required at the end of the evaluation period in your Self-Evaluation Statement.

The Department Chair & Provost/Dean shall accept the stated goals if deemed appropriate for the faculty member’s status and position in the department and University. It is appropriate to discuss your goals with your Department Chair prior to submission to avoid delays and assist in your professional development at Drury. Goals that are declined by the Department Chair or Provost/Dean will be sent back to the previous step (faculty member or faculty member/Chair, respectively) for revision (i.e., goals must be appropriate for the faculty member’s status and position).
