At the Institute for Mature Learners (IML) we believe learning never ceases, regardless of one's age. If you are 50 years of age or older, still interested in learning new things and meeting interesting people, then you are a candidate for joining the IML.
The IML was created at Drury University in 1995. It's goal continues to be offering presentations to its members on a wide variety of interesting topics. The topics discussed and their presenters are chosen by our curriculum committee with the input of the IML membership. Click on “Current Offerings” to see the current list of presenters and topics.
IML presentations are from 2:00-3:00 p.m. every Tuesday except for the months of January, August and December. In December we have a Holiday Party instead of a presentation. If a presentation has to be cancelled (i.e., for bad weather, a presenter's inability to attend, etc.), members are notified in advance using only email.
On only the first Tuesday of every month you can join us for lunch at 12:30 in the Findlay Student Center Commons on the campus of Drury University or University Plaza at 333 South John W. Hammons Parkway. The exact location will be announced. Members pay for their own lunch and provide their own transportation. The food is reasonably priced and offered buffet style. After lunch, those who attended then move to Olin Library to listen to the presentation taking place that day at 2:00. Olin Library is located in the heart of the Drury University campus.
Looking forward to seeing you at our gatherings,
