Students Spend Four Weeks Immersed in French Studies

Seven Drury students, all majoring or minoring in French and recipients of C.W. Titus Foundation Scholarships, spent four weeks studying in a French language and culture immersion program at the Institut de Touraine in Tours, France, in summer 2017.

During this challenging program, all students were required to take 22 hours of intensive French courses per week, live with local host families, and take a three-credit intercultural writing course.

As seen in the photo, the students and their professors did manage to find a bit of free time to enjoy French gastronomy.

Students will share their experiences and the challenges of living and studying in France with the Springfield community by offering presentations at the Schweitzer Brentwood Branch Library this fall.
