Drury University evening alumni receives teaching award
SPRINGFIELD, Mo., March 1, 2018 — Dr. Monica Fulton, a 1998 graduate of Drury University’s evening and online programs, recently received a Consummate Professional award from the Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals (MoASSP). Fulton, who has a bachelor of science in elementary education from Drury, is principal of Rolla Junior High School.
MoASSP and Walsworth Publishing Company annually honor one principal in each of Missouri’s eight MoASSP districts with the award. Fulton, who was named the 2018 MoASSP/Walsworth Publishing Company Consummate Professional for the South Central District, received the award for her work in the community; for demonstrating leadership in improving student achievement; for ensuring her school climate is a positive one that reflects high staff and student moral; and for being respected by her students, colleagues, parents and the community.
“(This award) means that my colleagues recognize my dedication to the positive culture at Rolla Junior High School and within our community,” says Fulton. “I am grateful to my colleagues for entrusting me with this honor.”
As part of the honor, Fulton was awarded $500 to be given to a student at Rolla Junior High.
The mission of MoASSP is to improve secondary education through positive leadership and the enhancement of student performance.
