Drury on C-Street Art Gallery to feature works from artist Marshall Arne in November
SPRINGFIELD, Mo., October 29, 2019 — The Drury on C-Street Gallery will feature works from artist Marshall Arne in November. Opening receptions will begin at 5 p.m., Friday Nov. 1. The exhibit runs through Nov. 27.
About Marshall Arne
Arne is an Associate Professor at the Hammons School of Architecture at Drury. In addition to teaching courses in digital design media, traditional presentation techniques, architectural practice, professional communication and architectural study abroad programs, Arne continues to practice as principal of Marsh & Nance LLC and participates in national and international architectural design competitions.
Displaying at the Drury on C-Street Art Gallery in November is Arne’s exhibit titled, “A White Guy: Formal Reflections of growing up in America.” This particular body of work represents Arne’s Scandinavian heritage and reflections of growing up white in the Midwest.
“Having practiced as an architect for nearly 40 years, I have spent considerable time bringing form and order to the intentions of the clients I’ve had the pleasure to work with,” Arne says. “It struck me several years ago that I might apply these same techniques to understanding my own life and began using geometry to tell the story. Where most people might express that in writing, I communicate best through drawing.”
