Drury on C-Street Gallery presents “Synesthesia of Song”
SPRINGFIELD, Mo., March 1, 2018 — The original art exhibition “Synesthesia of Song” opens Friday at the Drury on C-Street Art Gallery with a reception from 5 to 8 p.m.
As the saying goes, “A picture paints a thousand words.” “Synesthesia of Song” is a twist wherein the artwork is inspired by the song – or perhaps inseparable from it. Synesthesia is a sensation produced in one modality when a stimulus is applied to another modality, as when the hearing of a certain song induces the visualization of a certain color.
Visitors should prepare to experience visual works that are representations or interpretations inspired by a song or album. Each work of art is an interpretation the artist believes is embodied by a song or tells a story about the song. Art and music lovers alike are sure to appreciate the spectacle.
The Drury on C-Street Gallery is located at 225 E. Commercial St. Appetizers will be provided by community partner Café Cusco.
