How do Meal Plan and Panther Bucks Work?

Each meal plan contains two components: Blocks (meals) and Panther Bucks. The block plans are based on meals per semester. Your unused Panther Bucks roll over from the fall semester to the spring semester, if you purchase a spring semester meal plan. Blocks (meals) will not roll over from fall semester to spring semester. Meal plans do not roll from academic year to academic year.

Your meal plan blocks can be used at the Commons during dining hours and can be redeemed at the CX Monday through Friday from 6:30– 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 5:30– 8 p.m. in the form of a meal equivalent value of $4.85 per meal plan block (meal). Your Panther Bucks can be used anytime at the CX during dining hours.

Current Students - Those with academic-year contracts or fall-only contract

This schedule is for current students with academic-year or fall-only contracts who receive permission to commute.

If a Request for Exemption is received on or before the exemption deadline (April 1) there is NO contract cancellation fee.

If a Request for Exemption is received after the exemption deadline (April 1), but prior to fall move-in, the student will be charged a $500 contract cancellation fee.

If a Request for Exemption is received on or after fall move-in and by the add-course deadline (September 2), the student will be charged:

  • $500 contract cancellation fee
  • the nightly room rate until date of formal check-out
  • the prorated cost of the fall meal plan

If a Request for Exemption is received after the fall add-course deadline (September 3), the student will be charged:

  • $500 contract cancellation fee
  • the nightly room rate until date of formal check-out
  • the entire cost of the current semester’s meal plan, unless cancellation/move-out occur during Winter Break or between Jan move-in and the Jan meal change deadline (in which case the spring meal plan would be prorated)
  • 40% of the remaining room rent for the entire academic year

Newly Admitted Students (fall entry) with academic-year and fall-only contracts

This schedule is for newly-admitted students entering Drury at the fall semester with an academic-year housing contract or a fall-only contract, who subsequently receive permission to commute.

If a Request for Exemption is received on or before the exemption deadline (July 31) there is NO contract cancellation fee.

If a Request for Exemption is received after the exemption deadline (July 31) but prior to fall move-in, the student will be charged a $500 contract cancellation fee.

If a Request for Exemption is received after fall move-in and by the add-course deadline (September 3), the student will be charged:

  • $500 contract cancellation fee
  • the nightly room rate until date of formal check-out
  • the prorated cost of the fall meal plan

If a Request for Exemption is received after the fall add-course deadline (September 3) the student will be charged:

  • $500 contract cancellation fee
  • the nightly room rate until date of formal check-out
  • the entire cost of the current semester’s meal plan, unless cancellation/move-out occur during Winter Break or between Jan move-in and the Jan meal change deadline (in which case the spring meal plan will be prorated)
  • 40% of the remaining room rent for the entire academic year

Newly Admitted Students (spring) and Current students with a spring-only contract

This schedule is for newly-admitted students entering Drury at the spring semester AND current students with a spring-only housing contract, who subsequently receive permission to commute.

If a Request for Exemption is received on or before the exemption deadline (December 1), there is NO contract cancellation fee.

If a Request for Exemption is received after the exemption deadline (December 1), but prior to spring move-in, the student will be charged a $500 contract cancellation fee.

If a Request for Exemption is received on or after spring move-in day and by the course-add deadline (January 28), the student will be charged:

  • $500 contract cancellation fee
  • the nightly room rate until date of formal check-out
  • the prorated cost of the spring meal plan

If a Request for Exemption is received after the spring course-add deadline (January 28, the student will be charged:

  • $500 contract cancellation fee
  • the nightly room rate until date of formal check-out
  • the entire cost of the spring semester’s meal plan
  • 40% of the remaining room rent for the entire academic year
