The Medical Administrative Assistant program prepares you for an administrative role in a doctor’s office, clinic, outpatient setting or hospital. Medical administrative assistants, medical secretaries and medical records clerks are all positions with high demand. Employment of medical assistants is expected to grow 29% by 2026.

Program Details

This 50-hour program prepares students to function effectively in many of the administrative and clerical positions in the health care industry. It provides students a well-rounded introduction to medical administration that delivers the skills students require to obtain an administrative medical assistant position or advance within their current health care career.

Education and Certification

Medical administrative assistants should have or be pursuing a high school diploma or GED

  • Several national certification options are available to student who complete this course
  • This program includes a 40 hour externship opportunity
  • Students must be 18 years or older in order to sit for certification exams or participate in externship
