Drury Online Criminal Justice Program Among Best in Nation
Drury University’s online Associate of Science in Criminal Justice was ranked 15th among such programs nationwide by TheBestColleges.org. The program is offered through Drury’s College of Continuing Professional Studies and can be completed entirely online. It marks at least the third time this year that a Drury online degree program has been recognized as one of the best, and most affordable, in the nation by a college rankings company.
“The best online criminal justice associate degree programs lead to exciting and worthwhile careers with terrific job security, increased earning potential, and valuable contributions to public safety,” TheBestColleges.org said.
Drury criminal justice students study the environmental, psychological and biological factors that contribute to crime, as well as the modes and institutions of criminal investigation and conviction, and crime prevention strategies. In addition to the course offerings, students are encouraged to work in community, social and correctional agencies where they can apply classroom knowledge to real problems.
Program graduates have promising career prospects in a variety of law enforcement roles.
“Unemployment rates in the field are as low as one percent, and projected rises in job openings are as high as eight percent,” TheBestColleges.com said.
The website praised Drury’s program for allowing students to transfer in up to 31 credit hours from another institution and for awarding certain credits based on appropriate experience.
