This year’s Morrison Lecture will feature artist, cartoonist, and author Dwayne Booth, aka Mr. Fish, presenting “WARNING! GRAPHIC CONTENT – Political Cartoons, Satire, and the Uncensored Artistic Mind.”   The always provocative Mr. Fish frequently publishes his work on Scheerpost, but has also been published in Harper’s, the Village Voice, Mother Jones, Vanity Fair, the Utne Reader, and the Los Angeles Times.  He is the author of a number of books, including Go Fish: How to Win Contempt and Influence People, Nobody Left, and And Then the World Blew Up.  Booth also teaches at the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania.  His muse is a cankered one, and his satire is sharp and devastating.  (See his website at http://clowncrack.com .)   This year’s lecture will be held in Reed Auditorium on November 2nd at 6:30, and is free and open to the public.  A reception and book-signing will follow his talk.

Please note, too, that the night before, Tuesday, November 1st, at 6:00 pm, a documentary about Mr. Fish’s life and work be screened at the Moxie Cinema.  Please join us for a screening of filmmaker Pablo Bryant’s  Mr. Fish: Cartooning From the Deep End, followed by a panel discussion featuring Mr. Fish and Pablo Bryant.  (See: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iOc_jibSwnQ )  This event is also free and open to the public.
