How to market yourself!
It is very important to make a good first impression, and a variety of marketing tools may be used to provide a positive first impression. Marketing tools can include resumes, cover letters, portfolios, thank you notes and even your voicemail message. Basically, any type of communication with a potential employer/grad school is a marketing tool...it's your chance to market yourself.
Several resources are available in Career Planning & Development to assist you. Please note there are many styles/formats of resumes and there is no set right or wrong way of writing a resume. Be sure to pay attention to every little detail. Be sure your resume is consistent, with no grammatical or spelling errors and try not to abbreviate. Typically, resumes should be one page for recent college graduates and students.
Feel free to schedule an appointment with Career Planning & Development staff if you have any questions or need assistance.
